About Me

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and completed my master’s degree at Smith College in 1996. In the 20 years since that time, I have received continuing education in evidence-based and research-based treatments. I have 18 years of experience in both public and private sectors here on O‘ahu, including psychotherapy, program development and evaluation, group facilitation, and professional training.

In addition, I am a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator (CDWF) in Dr. Brené Brown’s Daring Way™ community. This certification allows me to facilitate group and individual interventions not available in the public domain, The Daring Way™ and Rising Strong™. These are based on research published in the books Daring Greatly and Rising Strong. Learn more about Brené Brown’s work at http://brenebrown.com/.

I integrate this research into my psychotherapy practice while continuing to utilize evidence-based interventions from cognitive, behavioral, psychodynamic, EMDR, and mindfulness-based practices. In addition, I have received Level I training to implement Gottman couple psychotherapy interventions.
